Here in Virginia, the list of bills in conference jumped considerably after yesterday’s deadline.
Key ones for business include :
Minimum Wage – should be interesting if economics comes into play here.
Casino Gaming – size of the conference committee is impressive, maybe historic.
Marijuana Decriminalization – how does this impact pre-employment screenings?
Local Taxing Authority – giving taxing authority counties is always a fun topic.
Association Health Plans – health care still the leading issue.
Certificate of Public Need – see above.
NOTE: One key bill NOT going to conference (because it cannot change) is the second passage of the Constitutional Amendment on Redistricting Reform which will now go to the House of Delegates after it passed out of Privileges and Elections late yesterday. You can read the RTD Article HERE.
